TV sex-crime cop busted for child porn

Insinnia, 57, of Bloomfield, turned himself into the Passaic County Sheriff's Department in Wayne Monday and was released on bail yesterday, officials said.
The man who played a New York police lieutenant on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was charged with possession of child pornography.
Authorities allegedly discovered 180 images of child porn on the hard drive of the actor's laptop computer.
Insinnia declined to comment.
His lawyer said he's innocent.
"I understand what he's been charged with, but I do have to say that based on my conversations with him and the authorities involved, I sincerely believe he's not guilty," said attorney Joseph Portelli.
According to Portelli, the hard drive on Insinnia's computer has been transferred various times in the last few years and a variety of people have had access to it.
"Any images that may have been on that computer are not his," Portelli said, adding that there are no allegations that his client purchased or sold any of the images.
The investigation began after Insinnia, who now sells real estate, took his computer to a Best Buy electronics store in West Paterson for repairs. A technician found the images, police said, and alerted a police detective working security at the store.

Playboy Stock Rises in 2nd Quarter
NEW YORK - Shares for Playboy Enterprises Inc. were up 60 cents on Tuesday, as the company posted rising quarterly results. The company has pointed to the positive performance of its U.S. television business, as well as gains in its licensing sales, as the reason for its gains.
According to a Reuters report, analysts were largely predicting that Playboy stocks would break-even on earnings, and with sagging circulation and advertising for the company's flagship magazine, it appeared as though the predictions would be correct.U.S. TV revenue — one of the Playboy's largest businesses — jumped 4 percent and International TV revenue rose 16 percent and licensing sales grew 36 percent.
"This quarter's results underscore our confidence that our domestic TV business has now stabilized," Playboy Chief Executive Christie Hefner said in a statement. "We expect that the domestic TV business will remain stable while international TV and online will show year-over-year revenue growth."

This is an update on the newly-released rules and regulations related to 2257. We will provide you with more information as it becomes available.
First, it is important to recognize that the regulations that the DOJ has set forth today are simply proposed regulations, issued for comment and possible change.
FSC will extensively comment on the regulations, and we intend to launch an industry-wide campaign to solicit your comments as well. We need your partici pa tion in this process. In the coming days we will provide details on how to comment.
Some of the points set forth were expected, and they represent the modest gains that we have achieved through litigation thus far. Some of the other points are troubling and represent the intransigence which we have come to expect from Attorney General Gonzales and his associates.
On the critical subject of “secondary producers,” the Justice Department is continuing to suggest that it has been right all along and that Congress ALWAYS intended secondary producer to be included in 2257. Therefore, they are consider ing the original legislation and regulations issued in 1995 to be valid for “secondary” as well as “primary” producers. We understand that for many of you it is simply impossible to comply with the Justice departments demands, and that is one of the reasons why we will continue the fight.
Unless the final regulations change radically from those proposed today, FSC will continue our litigation at the appropriate place and time, including seeking another injunction for “secondary producers” as well as others.
At the end day, we will make sure that federal judges understand the absurdity of these regulations, and we will not let up on our commitment to you and to your rights.

Teen Breaks Into Neighbor's Home to Watch Porn

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Florida teen is in trouble after he was caught breaking into a neighbor's home to watch pornography.
A woman said she caught her 15-year-old neighbor sitting at the computer watching porn. She said it's not the first time the boy has broken into her home.
On two other occasions the woman said she came home to find her computer on with multiple windows of pornography open.
The boy, who is not being named because of his age, confessed to police that he's broken in four times. He also admitted to stealing a Playstation, which has since been returned.
He is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand theft and was taken to Cape Coral Juvenile Detention Center. He is reportedly now back home

LOS ANGELES — Veteran performer Ginger Lynn, who has not shot hardcore since 2001, will go before the cameras again July 6 for Kink.com in two scenes, a wrestling scene with Isis Love and a hardcore scene with Mark Davis.
"I've fallen madly in love. I have finally met a man who can keep up with me, who is my match in bed, and that man is Mark Davis. We met at a fundraiser for Nicki Hunter and have been inseparable ever since," Lynn told XFANZ. "I figured if I was ever to make a comeback, I would do something I have never done before, show something I have never shown before, to express myself the same way I do at home. Very few men — none — have been able to bring that out of me the way Mark Davis has."
Lynn declined to go into detail about the scenes.
"I've always been known as the girl next door, naughty-but-nice. At home, I'm sick, twisted, kinky and I have no boundaries. Pulse Distribution Releases iPhone-ready Porn on PodDiscs

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Pulse Distribution has released a limited series of PodDiscs, a technology that puts adult content directly onto iTunes without using a credit card or waiting for a download — what Pulse's Howard Levine told XBIZ is the easiest, fastest, most private way to bring adult to the iPhone.
"[The PodDisc] actually has been around for the last six months or so," Levine said. "It was originally made by Erotic Video Networks. We acquired their stock and we've been sitting on it for the right moment, and this is the right moment."
Yesterday Digital Playground announced it released more than 250 hardcore scenes and 158 trailers ready for iPhone download — something Levine said is nothing new.
"An iPhone is a video iPod with a telephone," Levine said. "The content is not going through the service provider of AT&T; you're just downloading [content] into iTunes, that's all you're doing."
Levine said each of Pulse's nine PodDiscs features three titles that open directly into iTunes when inserted in any PC or Mac disc drive. For example, he said, the "Fucking Crazy" disc also features "College Brats 1" and "Legal Tender." All PodDisc features — which include "Zero to Slut in 60 Seconds," "Gobs of Goo" and "Pussy Deluxe" — were originally created by now-defunct studio Annihilation.
"As you can tell by the titles," Levine said, "they're pretty specific. Very little storyline and a lot of sex."
Pulse is selling its stock of 1,800 PodDiscs to distributors and at a wholesale price to retailers, and Levine said Pulse will consider producing more PodDiscs in the future once the company sees how well these sell.
"Not that the iPhone is out," Levine said, "it's something that's definitely a viable product."

For those still fuzzy on the whole investment concept, a hedge fund is a type of investment fund that charges a performance fee and is only available to a limited range of accredited investors. They are often limited partnerships with the goal of making money unrelated to the general financial market, with returns dependent upon how much is invested.
Adult entertainment, for all its potential profitability, is not considered part of the greater financial market.
AdultVest, headed by visionary founder Francis Koenig, sees this as an opportunity long overlooked and plans to launch a hedge fund in the next 45 days, designed specifically to find qualified investors for adult entertainment clubs.
Koenig anticipates loans ranging from $500,000 to $10 million being attracted and expects that there will be plenty of business owners eager for the opportunity to expand. “Many of these clubs are not able to obtain funding through banks because banks won’t lend to adult-use properties,” he explained to Alternative Investment News recently.

For those still fuzzy on the whole investment concept, a hedge fund is a type of investment fund that charges a performance fee and is only available to a limited range of accredited investors. They are often limited partnerships with the goal of making money unrelated to the general financial market, with returns dependent upon how much is invested.
Adult entertainment, for all its potential profitability, is not considered part of the greater financial market.
AdultVest, headed by visionary founder Francis Koenig, sees this as an opportunity long overlooked and plans to launch a hedge fund in the next 45 days, designed specifically to find qualified investors for adult entertainment clubs.
Koenig anticipates loans ranging from $500,000 to $10 million being attracted and expects that there will be plenty of business owners eager for the opportunity to expand. “Many of these clubs are not able to obtain funding through banks because banks won’t lend to adult-use properties,” he explained to Alternative Investment News recently.

New Jersey Passes Two Bills Aimed at Porn Shops

TRENTON - [Politics NJ.com] The State Assembly Monday passed a two-bill package Assemblywoman Pamela R. Lampitt [pictured] and Assemblymen Louis D. Greenwald and John F. McKeon sponsored to protect children and neighboring property owners in communities with sexually oriented business.
"Adult sexually oriented businesses may have first-amendment rights, but that doesn't give them carte blanche to exploit children or erode the property values of nearby homeowners," said Lampitt (D-Camden). "We need to provide property owners and communities with all possible tools to keep porn shops and other adult-oriented businesses in check."
The two bills in the package were crafted by Lampitt and Greenwald in the wake of a Union County businessman's plans to convert a vacant building along Route 70 in Cherry Hill into a store selling adult videos and sex toys. The vacant building abuts a residential neighborhood. Meanwhile, McKeon signed onto the measure in response to a community-oriented fight over an adult bookstore that opened along Route 46 in Fairfield Township, Essex County, last year.
The first bill (A-3692) would authorize municipalities to adopt ordinances for regulating and licensing sexually oriented businesses.
The bill would further require municipalities to provide an adult crossing guard, police officer or private security guard at each school, school bus stop or child care center located up to 3,000 feet of a sexually oriented business during times when children are likely to be outside their homes and while the businesses are in operation. The bill allows these sentry costs to be passed onto the applicable sexually oriented businesses.
"Taxpayers shouldn't bear the costs of ensuring that children don't get exploited by porn peddlers and other adult-oriented business," said Greenwald (D-Camden). "The operators of sexually oriented businesses should shoulder the costs."
The measure would build upon current law that already bars sexually oriented businesses within 1,000 feet of any house of worship, elementary or high school, school bus stop, hospital, child-care center, recreational area, or another existing sexually oriented business.
"New Jersey needs safe neighborhoods, not porn zones," said McKeon (D-Essex). "Porn peddlers should take heed that we are going to explore every avenue to help families protect children, their neighborhoods, and their home investments."
A second measure (A-3693) would impose tougher zoning and community notification requirements for sexually oriented businesses before starting operations. Under this bill, sexually oriented businesses would no longer be a permitted use in any zoning or use district, except for a district specially designated for sale, distribution, rental or exhibition of obscene materials. Variances could be granted only after a public hearing with notification provided to all property owners within 3,000 feet of the proposed sexually oriented business.
The lawmakers said they anticipate that both measures will be aggressively opposed by the porn industry.
"We know we are in for a fight, but we need to get the message across to these businesses that they are not going to run roughshod over our communities," said Lampitt.
The first measure (A-3692) was passed by the Assembly 75 to 1 with four abstentions. The second measure (A-3693) passed 77 to 1 with two abstentions. Both measures now go to the Senate for further consideration

First Radio interview for the JUPA Man

Last Thursday your's truly was a guest speaker in the new podcast Thrash talk. It is a podcast where they discuss trends and shows in the heavy metal community. In this episode they were discussing the new "porn" movie "CLUB SATAN: The Witches Sabbath" by the great multi-talented director Matt Zane.
In the interview I was asked of my opinion as a producer and metal lover about the movie... well, I'm not going to get into that right now, but I'll let you know when you will be able to download the audio interview. I'm sure that a lot of people would think it is a great thing to acknowledge the adult industry as a power house. I personally am still trying to figure out what those benefits would be, but I'm drawing a blank.

Most likely you are aware of, and gravely concerned about, the renewed interest in creating a .XXX TDL. Last May, FSC successfully opposed an attempt by Stuart Lawley, and his company ICM, to have .XXX accepted and implemented by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Mr. Lawley and his company stand to make millions from this deal—at the expense of the adult entertainment industry.
.XXX is a very bad idea because:
• It “ghettoizes” the industry, making adult entertainment an easy target for anti-industry extremists and government intrusion.
• It will add, unnecessarily, to the cost of doing business. At $60 per URL per year, the cost to a member could reach tens of thousands of dollars annually. Many in the adult entertainment industry will purchase and park addresses, realizing no benefit to this added expense. Lately there has been a lot of controversy in designating .xxx as a top domain level for the adult industry. I'm sure that a lot of people would think it is a great thing to acknowledge the adult industry as a power house. I personally am still trying to figure out what those benefits would be, but I'm drawing a blank.

Most likely you are aware of, and gravely concerned about, the renewed interest in creating a .XXX TDL. Last May, FSC successfully opposed an attempt by Stuart Lawley, and his company ICM, to have .XXX accepted and implemented by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). Mr. Lawley and his company stand to make millions from this deal—at the expense of the adult entertainment industry.
.XXX is a very bad idea because:
• It “ghettoizes” the industry, making adult entertainment an easy target for anti-industry extremists and government intrusion.
• It will add, unnecessarily, to the cost of doing business. At $60 per URL per year, the cost to a member could reach tens of thousands of dollars annually. Many in the adult entertainment industry will purchase and park addresses, realizing no benefit to this added expense. Finally, there will be countless battles for names, and the resulting arbitration will be costly.

A Quiet 2007 For 2257 -- So Far by Q. Boyer

WASHINGTON, DC -- Judged against the full history of the record-keeping requirements commonly referred to within the adult industry as “2257,” 2006 was doubtlessly the legislation’s most active year to date.
By comparison, 2007 has proven to be "all quiet on the 2257 front," so to speak and so far.
There have been no significant developments in the case Free Speech Coalition v. Gonzales, the FSC legal challenge to the 2257 regulatory scheme. Diane Duke, Executive Director of the FSC today said that, so far as she is aware, the legal challenge is “still sitting there, waiting on the judge.”
Nor have there been any 2257 inspections reported thus far in 2007; setting aside the inspection of Sebastian Sloane Productions (which was pursued in connection to a search warrant, and not a "pure" 2257 inspection), there were eight such inspections in 2006.
Last year also saw the first penalties for violations of 2257 handed down, following a guilty plea by Mantra Films (better known by the brand name Girls Gone Wild) admitting violations of 2257 record keeping regulations. Mantra as a company was fined $2.1 million, $500,000 of which owner Joe Francis was ordered to pay personally, stemming from his own plea agreement.
Thus far this year, the only known event of significance related to 2257 has been the appearance by Special Agent Chuck Joyner of the FBI at the Xbiz Hollywood conference in February.
Joyner’s presentation and his subsequent participation in a question and answer period were both significant and unprecedented events, to be sure. Even that appearance, however, stemmed from a meeting between representatives of the adult industry and the FBI that took place late last year.
Of course, it is always possible that inspections have taken place this year and simply have not been reported publicly. Arguably the wisest move for any producer who gets inspected is to not discuss their inspection with anyone beyond their legal counsel and the FBI agents conducting the inspection, at least pending resolution of the inspection.
There’s little doubt that significant developments with respect to 2257 are still in store this year – it’s just a little surprising there hasn’t seen more movement, already.
So, the (by now, quite familiar) question for 2257 remains; what’s next, and when is it coming?

AFF GEN. COUNSEL MEETS WITH FBI TO EASE 2257 INSPECTIONS FOR THE ADULT ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

WASHINGTON, D.C. In another breakthrough for dealing with federal officials, Atty. Paul Cambria Thursday met with FBI representatives to “open a better dialogue between authorities and the adult entertainment industry.”
“We met with a number of FBI agents in charge of the 2257 inspection process. They explained the inspection process to us and attempted to have a dialogue which would result in an easier inspection process,” said Cambria, AFF general counsel.
“We have a clearer understanding now of their procedures and I think that we have opened up a channel of communication to try and make the inspection process a more productive and less onerous one from the standpoint of the adult industry,” Cambria explained.
“It was a positive meeting. We clarified some areas that we thought were grey areas,” Cambria concluded.
Over the summer, the FBI began making unannounced visits to adult production companies to inspect 2257 records. Under the 2257 section of the U.S. Code, the producers of books, magazines, video or films are required to keep records of anyone performing sexually explicit acts after July 3,1995. The records should include name, dob and proof of that information along with any stage names.
In an earlier breakthrough for the Adult Freedom Foundation, Cambria was the first and only representative of the adult entertainment industry invited to testify before the U.S. Senate’s Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee hearing on “Protecting Children on the Internet.”
The hearing was held Jan. 19, 2006, and Cambria was later requested to provide supplemental testimony to his live appearance.
Industry attorneys Jeffrey Douglas and Greg Piccionelli also attended Thursday’s meeting at FBI Headquarters in Washington.
